THE BOOK

I held the book so tightly in my hand.
I wanted to see You,
and You to see me.
The many names I could not understand,
but I wanted to see You,
and You see me.

I went pawing; something was gnawing.
Could there be space for me
by Your side?

I hold the words so tightly in my heart.
I want to know You,
and You to know me.
The many times I tore myself apart,
but I want to know You,
and You know me.

When I am reading, I am needing
to find some place for me
by Your side.

I like this one. To me, it really conveys the Fatherhood of God--our total dependence on His omnipotence/ mercy. I picture a little boy in his sleeper outift.
